“The question for each man to settle is not what he would do if he had means, time, influence and educational advantages; the question is what he will do with the things he has. The moment a young man ceases to dream or to bemoan his lack of opportunities and resolutely looks his conditions in the face, and resolves to change them, he lays the corner-stone of a solid and honorable success.”—Hamilton Wright Mabie
well the thing is i already have 5 bookshelves (overload of books xD) and i'm going to donate some of the books to my local library so i'll have about 2 extra bookshelves. and none of my family members / friends want them.
oohhhh ok! I guess there is such a thing as too many books? lol
If you just don’t want them/don’t have room anymore, then I don’t know what to tell you other than a) sell them or put them up on craigslist for free if you want them gone, or b) turn them into something else that you need. Don’t think of them as bookshelves, but look at the raw materials, and go from there.
If the shelves are removeable you could get some brackets from a hardware store and give it an updated look. Need some desk space? I don’t know how practical that would be, but it’s a cute idea.
i have two bookshelves i don't use anymore, any idea what i can make/do with them?
Well first, why don’t you use them? Is there just no use for them or is it how they look? If it’s just looks, you could always repaint them, or fancy them up a bit. When I next get a bookcase, I want to paint it two colors, and stencil pretty patterning on the inside, like this, in a similar color family. Or you could convert it into a cat climber. Obviously not that snazzy, but the idea is cool. If you have no use for bookshelves and the wood is nice (are they even wooden? haha), you could cut it up and use it to make this picture frame shelf.
Hope this helps you! Otherwise just message me back again, and we can collaborate! hehe xox
